WIP: TMNT Turtles

That is the palette for the turtles and base. Let's jump right in!

So pretty straight forward colors and pics below as we go... Thinned glazes so that the zenithal priming does a lot of the work. Remember these guys are small and super grainy so not much reason to get detailed ;)
Front shells.
Skin tone.
Masks.
Shells.
Leather.
Wood.
Teeth.
Tongues.
Metal.
First shade.
Weapons First shade.

That is where I will leave them for now :)

Next Post: Their base.

Thanks for following along, hit me with comments or questions and remember; you can't spell paint without a little pain!

  1. Looking great! I love you're going with the old-school all-red masks - good stuff, man!

  2. Where is their pizza? Fantastic work on them, but I'm not sure about the red. My TNMT always had the own colors (Donatello for the win!).
Those extra long pins and clamps is genius. I've been using short penny nails and they are often too short to really stay in the corks.

    1. Thanks! The pins are just florists wire cut to length. One thing about this stuff is that no glue really sticks to it - so pins and pieces needed to be a combo of a layer of GS and superglue. it was a royal PITA :P

  3. They are grainy. Is it because of the miniatures' material? Anyways, they look fantastic paint-wise for such super small minis.

    1. Yep, it's the lowest quality 3d printing. I wanted to see if they could compete in terms of quality at an affordable price yet. Not yet but it is getting there. They would be fine for table top or rpg games :)

By all means have your say, but please keep it civil.
