A painting & hobby Blog for the less than perfect.
That is an incredible standard for only two hours!
You have no idea how surprised i was. I just did 15 or 20min sessions at a time and was playing with sketching and colors on the wet palette and was like holy crap! That looks amazing. Very rarely does a mini come together so easily :)
They’ll look great fighting alongside my new Black Templars. Check them out on my instagram @ guido_hockmann. What do you say - wanna get back into the game?
Oh i wish I had time! Life is till kicking my ass and I have to get through my lost patrol stuff for the NOVA open charities this year first. When did growing up get so damn busy?!
Can you share your paint recipe for this test model? I have tried a dozen different approaches to get a solid white from cool white to a dirty white and I can't seem to get the same results as your test mini.
yep, it was a blend of incubi darkness in the shadows and then and mix of that, steel legion drab and vallejo ivory for the mids and highs and then pure white for the edges and scratches. I glazed in the others colors from the surroundings just before the final white reflections to get nice environmental colors to put him in the setting more.
Just two hours for such an end result is impressive. :)
I was surprised. I was just sketching at the wet pallet a few minutes here and few minutes there, no session was more than about 15 min and all of a sudden i was like: damn that's the look i want - stop here o_O
By all means have your say, but please keep it civil.
