WIP: Steampunk Leia - Metal & Brass

She is so close to being done :) The metals and brass were given initial sketching with the colors below...

Then I tinted the brass using these colors to add warmth...
The last steps were to add depth with some shades and dark lining and then reflections of surrounding colors glazed on. After that I went back and added extreme highlights to act as reflections with the brightest metal colors.
Soon she'll be ready for her close up, but first I have to quickly finish her plinth.

In other news I got my angels and demons vignette primed...
I'm going to try some weird stuff on this one so it may become and epic fail or I'll chicken out and just practice skin tones.

Next Post: Steampunk Leia's plinth gets done and we mount her - to the plinth! To the plinth o_O
Thanks for following along, let me know what you think in the comments and remember; you can't spell paint without a little pain :)

  1. Looks stunning. when she is mounted on the plinth it will be the icing on the cake :)

  2. Steampunk Leia looks good and as for trying some weird stuff on the new project ... do it ... in my experience some of my failures have also resulted in the greatest surprises; good surprises that make us better painters. :)

    1. Steampunk leia is the result of my trying weird crap. Skin like that doesn't just happen you know :P Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Mabeline!

    2. Or ... a long lost relative of a character called Skeeter Valentine from a cartoon of my youth called Doug :)

By all means have your say, but please keep it civil.
